For the first time in months I was able to keep up with my husband while doing farm work yesterday. The energy everyone told me would come has finally arrived and I'm SO happy... after feeling like a walking hangover for the last few months, this break is much appreciated.We took advantage of a weekend without plans or running around and decided to finish the greenhouse. It's not huge (it's 10 feet x 30 feet) but it's big enough for us to keep ourselves in tomatoes, cucumbers and basil for the summer and greens in the winter.

Weather Woes /
This year it feels like summer is reluctant to come. Some days the sun comes out and I happily start packing away my worn out sweaters, only to retrieve them from their boxes the following day. Every morning begins gray and dull like Winter in Pennsylvania but minus the central heating. Every night I hope for sun because man, I am ready for it.

I kept thinking how nice this particular Fall has been compared to the past few here and I was attributing its nice-ness to the unseasonably warm weather. Today when I brought it up my husband reminded me that it's likely the weather has always been this nice this time of year and that we just didn't enjoy it before. I guess between dealing with car issues and money issues and homesickness we were never calm enough to appreciate the weather (or much else).

After a two month-long vacation classes finally started back up again this week. Not that our relaxing summer vacation wasn't great, (it was!) but two months is a long time to go without a full paycheck or a schedule of any kind. I usually do much better when I have projects and activities going on and so this week we really jumped right back into it.

Aside from a few days working at a cruise ship check in, our time lately has been divided almost equally between house projects, cooking and watching movies. It's been glorious. We took a day trip to Santiago and had ice cream and Vietnamese food. Friends came over to help us feast on a duck and two of our chickens.
